  Hi,

  Can I just keep the Domain and cancel the plan?
  and according to the instructions should i do so, the domain will be forwarded to wordpress.com, why is that if I plan to try a different hosting service using the domain I purchased here in WordPress?

  Hi there!

  Yes, you can keep your domain and cancel the WordPress.com plan only. We’ll issue a partial refund (keeping the cost of the domain). It will redirect to the WordPress.com address without a WordPress.com plan, but that’s only if you keep the domain pointed to your WordPress.com site.

  If you point the domain to an external host, it’ll load that site without any WordPress.com connection. You can change your domain’s nameservers to point it elsewhere.

  Having said that, may I ask why you’d like to cancel? I understand you still need a website. Would you like to share your website requirements with us so that we can help you build it on WordPress.com?
