Just want paypal…what else do I need?
-
I had hoped when I upgraded from Free to Premium I would be able to use the full capabilities of Paypal to accept credit cards, but that is obviously not the case, since Simple Payments allows only Paypal payments.
I assume I need to upgrade to Business, but then what other plugins do I need to be able to use the full functionality of all the Paypal buttons and codes to sell via credit cards and paypal?
Isn’t there a way to just use Paypal as my payment gateway for credit card purchases? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
No Worries! All payments are fulfilled by PayPal in Simple Payments.
You don’t need to upgrade to Business.
I visited your site and clicked on the Buy Button
A new window opened with the option to pay from the PayPal account or simply use a credit or debit card to complete the purchase.
I clicked on credit or debit card option and it took to me to a new window wherein it said PayPal guest checkout and asked me to fill in the credit or debit card details.
Please find below a screenshot of what I am talking about.

Thank you.

Thank you! I think it must have automatically logged me in to my paypal account when I tested, or I didn’t notice the credit card option.
Thanks for your kind help!

Although, I can set up Paypal to charge for individual performances on different dates and purchase specific amounts of tickets from a drop down menus, but WordPress doesn’t allow that functionality.
How can I get that paypal functionality into my wordpress site?
-
Hi there,
PayPal is just a payment gateway and it is not via Paypal you set up to charge for individual performances or purchase specific amounts of tickets from a drop down menus.
I think you would require a plugin which enables event and ticketing functionality to your WooCommerce website.

I do appreciate your continued assistance.
Actually, with Paypal, I can offer a drop down menu allowing the customer to select from different performances, but WordPress won’t accept the button code if it’s anything other than a simple button. (WordPress’ instructions for adding a simple paypal button specifically says you may not select paypal’s drop down menu.)
Thank you for tagging the question for modlook. That’s a good option to know about.
My concern is I upgraded thinking it would solve the payments problem, and it didn’t. Now I just need to know exactly what it would take to solve the problem:
To have access to plugins, I need to upgrade to Business. Then I need the WooCommerce plugin and possibly the theater plugin, but even if I get those, do I still need a payment gateway? And will it work the way I want? I just want to know how much more this is going to cost before I start plunking down more money.
Thanks for all your help, though. It is appreciated.

Just so I make sure I answer your questions correctly, what are you looking to sell? Event tickets at various price points, correct?
-
Yes. Each event will have it’s own page and I need to insert code at the bottom of the page that allows for the sale of one or more tickets to that event. Each event will have different several different dates from which to choose, which is why I need a drop-down box. The price of the ticket is the same for any one event, though different events will have different prices.
Our Paypal account has the functionality to provide what I need, but WordPress will only accept the code for Simple Pay, which doesn’t allow drop-down boxes.
So, really, all I need is the full functionality of our Paypal account, or a combination of plugins that allows that.

So, the short answer is, yes, with a Business plan you can do what you want to do.
The longer answer is that a livechat conversation with one of our HAppiness Engineers will be a faster way to get your site on track to what you are aiming for:
