  Hi, I’m just wanting to test out WordPress to develop our website without having to set up a plan right from the start. I’ve tried going through the Free section but I’m required to set up a domain name which we don’t have just yet but we want to use an example like ourwebsite.com.au/ url. Can I do this on WordPress first then sign up to the premium plan after I have experimented with the software? Other sites allow this.

  You can set up a free WordPress.com site using a URL like blog.wordpress.com – or a number of other options, which you can find here: https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2018/11/28/announcing-free-dotblog-subdomains/

  When creating a new WordPress.com site, you’re presented with two paid domain options at the top of the form, and just below that, you should see a free option.
