K2-lite – changed?
-
Help – my theme has suddenly gone funny with the column width … images are cropped on the right hand side and the comment box has lost its right hand border. How can I fix it?
Thanks

From what I can see in your most recent post, the image is too large for the area allotted for the blog entry, and it’s pushing into the sidebar. Reduce it by a little bit. Go into post and go under html. It has length/width of the photo listed. Reduce the size by 10% for each length/width to make proportionate.

um – yes that all makes sense but I’m in Safari not IE and I can’t see html as an option. perhaps I’m being thick!
-
and while I’m at it – why does the ‘al’ button open a dialogue screen but only the bottom half of it?????

Click on the image in the Edit view, then click on the image icon, and when it pops up change the width to something narrower. Delete the content of the Height box, and WP.com will automatically resize it and keep the aspect ratio.

I’m still puzzled – it doesn’t do any of that. When I go into ‘edit’ view, the image is in html in the text of the post so no icon to click. If I click on the image in the post when I am logged in and have the ‘edit’ option – I get a big version of the image but not option to change dimensions. I’ve looked at every option in the gallery but nowhere is the size of the image shown ….

When in regular visual editor (not html as you stated you can’t use on safari) click on image, you should see ‘place markers’ all around the image signalling that your mouse has highlighted the image. At this point, click on the icon which resembles a tree. In that box make the changes to image size as Raincoaster explained :)

thank you, thank you – the problem was I had VIsual Editor turned off so couldn’t make sense of anything. it is now back on and I have sorted it but I didn’t get the dimensions to amend – had to invent new ones!
Hasn’t changed the comment box though, that is still cut off on the right.
… and now I’m in Vis Ed, I don’t have that al box anymore – so how do you get the auto offer of links?

Are you talking about possibly related links? To turn that off, go to design—> Extras and tick second box, press save. Your comments look fine on my end. Sometimes things like different depending on which browser someone is using.
