Karuna Sidebar Help

Hi. I want a sidebar to appear on my front page in the Karuna theme. I have the template set to “default template” instead of full width. I put a text widget in the sidebar and without changing the visibility, it will show up on pages 2 and 3 but not on the home/front page. If I set the visibility to show Page that is Front, it still won’t show on the Home page. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong – help!

Hi,
On the Karuna theme, the page set as the static front page will display at full-width, regardless of the template assigned to it. I don’t find this information in the Karuna theme guide, but was able to replicate the effect you’ve described on a test site, and the illustration of the front page in the Setting Up Your Front Page section of the guide suggests that this is the case.

I don’t find numbered pages on the site https://bsader.wordpress.com, and the other two pages linked to in the menu, “Contact Me,” and “Experience,” do not presently display any widgets in the sidebar widget area.

Thank you for looking in to this. It makes sense that it is full-width because I have tried everything to get the sidebar on there since the theme says it can have two columns.
By pages 2 and 3 I meant the other two pages you saw. I tried the sidebar on them and it worked fine, but I didn’t leave them there.
Thanks again for confirming that Karuna’s front page won’t allow a sidebar. They should add this to their description.
