Karuna theme missing sidebar
-
Hello
I have activated the sidebar in the Karuna theme. I have added the category widget to the sidebar. The sidebar is not visible. I have added the same widget to all of the other areas (header, footer, etc.) and it shows up no problem. Does anyone know why the sidebar not show up?
Thanks for the help!

Hi,
What is the address (URL) of the site that you are referring to? Is it a WordPress.com site?
-
Hi @mrsaperkins,
Is greenmountainkms.wordpress.com the site you’re working on?
I can see that the Full-Width Page template has been assigned to that site’s home page. Pages with that template do not display a sidebar by default, which is why you’re not seeing the category widget there.
If you’d like to change this, then you can select the Default Template via the page editor’s Page Options tab.
Let us know if that helps out or if you have any extra questions!

Actually, that didn’t work. All other pages are set to Default Template and the sidebar does show up. I set the Static Front Page to the Default Template as well and it is still missing.

After digging deeper into this, I found that a special template is automatically set to Karuna’s front page and it’s not possible add a sidebar to it.
The sidebar will therefore appear on single posts or pages with the Default Template.

Hi I have downloaded karuna theme and activated in my website but the ‘social menu’ function is missing! Can anybody help?
-
Hi @worldnewsunion,
The option of setting up a social menu can be found by first creating a new custom menu. We have full step-by-step guidance for setting up your social menu here:
Take a look through the above guidance and, if you have questions, please start a new thread on this forum. You can do that here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/themes#postform
It’s easier for us to keep track of different questions if they’re kept to separate threads and also prevents the original poster from receiving unnecessary email notifications.
Thanks!
