Keep only a splash page published until i have finished working on my site?

  Hello!
  Is there a way to keep only an info/splash page published but the content pages unpublished while i am still finalising the design?
  It would be great for viewers to be able to see information about the site launch and a short description about the project while we are designing the content (which would be invisible).

  Yes. Create a static front page, or a single post containing any information you’d like to provide regarding the website to come. It might include an introduction, images, links. Whatever you want. Leave all other posts and pages unpublished, in draft status, until you are ready to publish more content.

  Is there a way to keep some posts private (so we can publish to see exactly what they look like?) Because leaving posts in an unpublished form doesn’t show you exactly what it will look like published on the page.

  http://fridafreda.net/ – is set to Private so nobody that has not been invited or is a user can see the site – so a splash page or whatever is not needed as long as your site is set to Private – just leave the Posts and Pages normal since the site can’t be seen by anyone

  but my question is, is it possible to keep an info page live whilst working on the content pages and set them to private?
  It seems it is all or nothing with word Press.
  All private (with no info page so people can see a description and when the site will go live)
  All public (so people can see your messy work whilst perfecting design)

  Yes, you may publish individual posts or pages privately. To do so check the Private option in the Visibility drop-down menu of the Publish module.

  Not sure what you mean by “info page” or “live,” but any page or post can be public, password protected, or private.
