Keep receiving a text from WordPress.com about verification code

    As the title says, i keep receiving text of verification number, like a ton of them. Every minute i receive them

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    I see you’ve since deleted your account. If this was in error, please reply to the email we sent you when you did that, as you won’t be able to reply to this forum thread any more with a deleted account.

    To answer the question, if you’re receiving 2FA codes when you haven’t logged in, it means someone else is trying to log into your account, and have already successfully entered your username and password. This situation is what 2FA is for – even if someone somehow manages to obtain your password, they still won’t be able to log in, as they will not have the code that’s only sent to your phone.

    What you need to do in such a case is to immediately reset your password, and for good measure also the password on your email account, in case the person doing this already managed to access that as well.

    Also make sure every password is long and unique – never use the same password for multiple sites, as that only makes it easier for someone to try breaking into an account this way.
