Hi there,
You can use the HTML editor to control line breaks and indentation for your poems. You can read more here:

Hello again; It worked!
BUT there is a gray box around each paragraph with a drop shadow. Kind of like the effect but would like to see it without; would also like to know how to replicate it in code for future entries. For now I’d like to lose it. -
Awesome!
To hide the gray boxes remove the
and
tags at the beginning and at the end of each paragraph.

Whoops! Here’s what I wanted to say:
To hide the gray boxes remove the <pre> and </pre> tags at the beginning and at the end of each paragraph. -
But if I did that I’d lose the preserve indents & spacing; they are
the directions I got from the Advanced HTHL support page.Directions: to force the editor to preserve indents and spacing use the
tag. It worked but also got the gray boxes.

You can remove the gray boxes with some CSS code. To use CSS code on your site you must have the Custom CSS upgrade which is a feature of the WordPress.com Premium and Business plans.
Here’s the code:
pre{ background: white; }and the instructions on where to put it:
