Keeping my own domain

  Hello, I am looking into using WordPress for my site Tidewave.nl, but I find conflicting information on payment. On https://wordpress.com/start/domains/use-your-domain/en it says mapping a domain costs €13,00 per year, whereas on https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ it says it’s free. Could you clarify the conditions that would apply when I want to keep my own address?

  Hi there,

  To map a domain, you should have an active plan for your account (Personal, premium or business).

  If you do not have a plan, you must purchase a plan to get started with mapping your domain. Once you have a plan you can map your domain and update your name servers.
