Keeping My Views Out of Stats???

  How can I view my blog, make changes, or view stats without my views appearing in the stats? I think when I log in to wordpress, it is counting this as a visit (referred by WP Dashboard). I want to make sure the stats only represent visits by others. Thanks!

  I keep myself from showing up in my stats by saving my dashboard (wp-admin) address in my favorites so that I go straight to my dashboard before I go anywhere else on WordPress. If it doesn’t remember me, it asks for my name and password.

  This is what the stats support entry states:

  The following are not counted:

  • Visits to uploaded documents and files
  • Visits from browsers that do not execute javascript or load images
  • GoogleBot and other search engine spiders
  • Your own visits to your blog (for logged-in users of public blogs only)

  Jetpack Stats

  If you are sure your own visits are being counted while your are logged in to WordPress.com then please report this to Staff.

  Thanks, but I tried bookmarking like Brooke suggested and it didn’t work. Thanks, timethief, I read that as well, which is why I don’t understand why they are still being counted. I will contact support and see if they can help.

  I also log-in directly to my primary blog like Brooke does and don’t have this problem. Not to worry as Staff will sort this for you.

  It is possible that another blogger is clicking over to your site from their dashboard. I have commented on other blogs before, and sometimes they check me out from their dashboard. If you make a lot of comments on other people’s blogs, that may be what you are seeing in your stats.

  Brooke, I would like to think that is the case :). But I tried this today 10 or 12 times in a row (logging in), and each time the stats were raised by one. It doesn’t seem like this could be a coincidence.
