Keeping the same first page
-
Is it possible to create a specific post that is always the first page that a visitor would see when visiting my blog? If that’s possible, can you designate posts that will always be second, third, fourth, etc.? I may want to have up to 4 posts that are always in a particular order and then all newer posts would be seen as you would see a typical blog, in order from most recent to oldest. Thanks for the help. DMS

Let’s make sure you are in the right forum. Please provide a link to your wordpress.COM blog. And consider linking it in your user name as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums.

Consider linking your name to your blog: (Your link is not functional)

“Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.”If you DO have a WordPress.COM (as opposed to WordPress.ORG0 blog:
You can set one only static page.
Then, you could possibly use the “next page” tag to go to page 2, 3, 4… -
Typo:
as opposed to WordPress.ORG. blog
We have different platforms:

Thanks for the info about linking my name. Do you have any ideas about my initial question? Thanks

http://dmsvideoblog.com/ – that makes the link clickable And review the 8 Things sticky at the top of the forums.
Your choices are a sticky post or a static page.

Just beware that if you “sticky” more than one post, it may not be the order you want it in. We’ve had many people come to the forums wondering why their posts aren’t in order because they stickied them all. A static page might be a better idea.

I think multiple sticky posts are arranged from newest to oldest (I only tried this once so I can’t be sure): if it’s so, you can arrange them in the order you want by changing their date stamps. But I also think it’s simpler to turn the four posts into one.
