Keyboard Shortcuts for Headings, Seperation, Read More, etc, in Gutenberg?

    Howdy ya’ll!

I’m starting to slowly get the hang of this new site format. I still hate Gutenberg with the fiery passion of a thousand stars, will always wish for the days of the superior original editer, but I’m now at the point where I can tolerate this new editer.

Anyway, I’m trying to figure out how to do things with it that I used to do with ease on the old editer. Specifically, how to make header texts of various levels, add line seperators, read more, and other similar post formatting styles to further enrich my posts.

Is there any way to do this with Gutenberg? I looked, but I couldn’t find any easily accessible keyboard shortcuts to add various levels of heading from one to six (I think?), line seperation, or read more.

Does anyone know of any such keyboard shortcut keys or key commands that will allow me to make these kind of format choices on my posts and pages?

  • Hi!

    Absolutely. Try this:

    /header

You’ll still need to pick the heading size with a mouse, IIRC, but we could pass along feedback if you just wanted to be able to type /h1 /h2, etc.

For a separator, try typing (on its own line) /sep or /line — even as you begin to type those the option should come up.

And for read more, just type /read or /more — they’re both set up to show the read more tag..

Does that help? If not, send more details and we’ll go from there.
