kluged my wordpress.org settings

    I did not create the file but I did inherit it. I noticed that it was really messed up and tried to change WP > SETTINGS > SITE URL to a sub-domain but it did not redirect it. I did not want to make a 301 for what I thought was a small issue… (NOVICE) so I changed the WORDPRESS URL to the same sub-domain.. and 404 … KLUGED MYSELF GOOD any help would be greatly appreciated.
