Known Forum Bug?

  Hiya,

  I’ve been noticing an issue with the forums increasingly recently and I’m just curious if:

  1. Others are having this issue, or it’s just me
  2. This is a known forum bug

  You’ll notice that twice in my replies, the Post Count is 1 but the latest poster is not me. As such, it’s displaying less posters than there actually are, and I also noticed this happened on the home page. This can be confusing, but the other more confusing thing which I’m noticing is when this happens, it’s not that clear if your thread has posted? I have to refresh/leave the page a few times before tie response occurs.

  Is anyone else noticing this? Thanks.

  Hi there, and thanks for bringing that to our attention. Do you have a link to a thread where this has happened and is still showing the incorrect count right now so that we can take a look?

  This is a known issue. The problem is that the page cache gets stuck sometimes. The reply is there, and an email notification goes out to anyone subscribed to the thread, but it takes a while to actually appear.

  The developer who handled our forums software upgrade earlier this year needs to look at it, but she’s currently on leave. This is on the list for her to fix once she’s back, but for now we have to live with it :)
