Koi Theme
-
I love this new theme to death, but I have one problem. After I decided to use it, I played around with the background colours and adding my own images, but then decided that I really liked the original background the best. I seem unable to get it back though, so I’m now wondering if anyone knows how to do that?
Thank you for your help, and excuse me if this is a stupid question. I’m just a noob. ^^’
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I can’t find the social media buttons, not even the RSS feed. Aren’t these included?
Thanks. -
oops, sorry, found RSS, but not the others mentioned on the designer’s page http://www.ndesign-studio.com/wp-themes/koi-theme

@joniew
That’s for wordpress.ORG installs. And I strongly suspect that it’s not part of the version of the theme we have here at wordpress.com. These are the methods for using social bookmarking on wordpress.com blogs and none of them can be set up for automatic display >

We can use Publicize for Twitter and Facebook. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/ and the Twitter widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-widget/
In addition there are 5 methods of posting to Facebook I’m aware of. See > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/12/importing-wordpress-com-post-snippets-into-a-facebook-fan-page/ -
Thanks! I’ve been reading your blog and subscribed since ages – great information! I do use AddThis on all my blogs.
Btw Shareaholic is a very easy way to post to Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, StumbleUpon, and many, many more.
Happy blogging and thanks again for all your help! -

@alwayssaidsnape The designer of this theme, Nick La, is planning on releasing it soon to the WordPress.org themes directory.
You can encourage him to do so by commenting on his announcement post: http://www.ndesign-studio.com/blog/koi-theme-release.

The addthis button you are using is inefficient. Please read this post to know why…
How to use the Addthis button PROPERLY in the side bar of a wordpress.com blog -
Can you anyone request for automatic social media support at wp.com as it is really dump way of doing so manually. ( As it is on my blog! :-( )

@ sanjidas
thanks for letting me know, I followed the link and see the problem, but I do not understand how to add the code provided.
What I want is a way for readers to be able to bookmark my blog, not individual posts..
Is there perhaps and an easier way of doing it?
Thanks for your help! -

There’s no need to much around with code alterations to accomplish what you want. The AddThis widget can be installed on your WordPress.com blog with minimal effort. Please see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/addthis/

Thanks Timethief – that’s exactly how I have it set up. But if you follow the link provided by sanjidas, you will see there is a problem.

Thanks,
I just visited your blog and “yes” your AddThis button does exactly what you want it to do ie. allows the blogger to post their replies into the discussion, not individual posts. If you ever want to add social marks to your posts then there are several choices here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/koi-theme?replies=15#post-479668
Happy blogging. :) -
I think you’re right, I’m going to leave it just as it is and trust that people are on the homepage page when they bookmark and will realize if the url isn’t the correct one. Thanks again and happy blogging to you too :-)))

Very happy indeed – I’ve got 8 blogs and was not relishing the idea of messing around with codes! You’ve saved my day and sanity :-))) And thanks again for the great job you do here!!

@Timethief,
I just visited your blog and "yes" your AddThis button does exactly what you want it to do ie. allows the blogger to post their replies into the discussion, not individual posts.The Addthis code that is provided officially is faulty. The staff knows that by now, because I contacted them.
@joniew,
I'm going to leave it just as it is and trust that people are on the homepage page when they bookmark and will realize if the url isn't the correct one.I wouldn’t test the patience of my visitors this way. Because the Addthis button works the same way everywhere else except in wordpress.com. Anyway, best of luck with it !
