Kubrick and RSS
-
I want to enable people to subscribe to my blog (artandmylife.wordpress.com) and want to put one of those RSS subscribe thingies on my sidebar. I am using the Kubrick theme which I have not “fiddled with” at all. I know this must be simple but….help?

There are two ways to do it. If you do a search of the FAQ, you’ll find the instructions for putting a button in your sidebar. I prefer to use the RSS widget; just drag it into your sidebar on the Widgets page, and put your feed in it; your feed is http://artandmylife.wordpress.com/feed

I have figured out how to do it but am worried about losing the default Kubrick sidebar. If I just drag and drop the existign elements and add the RRS thing – will that work?

yeah but you drag a text box and put the HTML in that? and then you have to drag and drop the otehr elements you want eg Blogroll

Yes, once you fiddle with the sidebars, you’ll have to rebuild them. But everything in the Kubrick default sidebar is available as widgets in the widget box. Just pull them out of there.

OK I created a test blog so i could get the sidebar just rightand to test things out see arttest.wordpress.com. I have what i want but CANNOT get the image to show for the RSS feed – I used the code and images in the FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/put-your-feed-in-your-sidebar/

Thank you Raincoaster, you are the first person in this forum who actually ANSWERED the question of how to put RSS on your blog…. everybody else keeps directing us all back to FAQ section…. well if that was helping I wouldn’t be here asking questions. Thank You so much!
