Wouldn’t it be great if was running my on system, i could just change something in the code and have it my way – instead I’m have to make do with wordpress.coms themes. I guess I have go to through every damn one of them – cause its clear you don’t have a clue.
Fine you win, I’m leaving – and up yours.

Have a nice day, and enjoy your customer service experience in the forums as much as we’ve enjoyed helping you.
The answer is easy, but you’ve gotta put out for me first. It’s a URL, is it THAT hard to type?

@shadowstep You can use the paid upgrade for Custom CSS to modify parts of WordPress.com theme designs. Or you can switch to WordPress.org where you can have full control to modify the code any way you’d like.

All themes here show the categories and tags in the post metadata although with a few themes here you can turn them off. INove is one of those themes, but I think there are a couple more in the recently added themes.
This is a multi-user platform which means we all share the underlying wordpress and theme files. That means that if one person was allowed to change the theme, it would change it for everyone using that theme. With a multi-user platform, wordpress can roll out changes and bug fixes very quickly and continuously as needed. If this service were structured in such a way that each blog had its own set of files, the wordpress could not continually roll our code and bug fixes since they would have to update each and every blog here, and that is well over 2.5 million blogs. That would take a long time.
If you have knowledge of CSS, a lot can be done to customize themes, but hiding the categories or tags is iffy since many themes lump those into the same selectors as the comment link, author name and date, so hiding one hides them all.
Perhaps wordpress.COM simply isn’t right for you.

designsimply can answer your question because she’s staff: she can SEE your blog without you having to tell her. As you can see, the forums are primarily occupied by volunteers who have no way of knowing what kind of blog you have if you don’t tell them. You could have saved a ton of time if you’d given me the answer to my question hours ago.
