  I want the Kubrick theme and it is retired.

  Themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress.COm features. They cannot be used on any blogs that they were not previously used on. More to the point is the fact that Kubrick was the default theme for many years and many spammers and scammers on WordPress.ORG software installs in particular are still using that old retired theme. When I see it on any blog I immediately associate it with spammers and scammers. The bottom line is that you need to make another choice and the good news is there are 125 Free Two Columns WordPress Themes here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/two-columns/?sort=free
