Lack of motive function
-
Hi! I’ve purchased ‘Melody’ motive, which I like ver much. But one of its function supposed to be ‘featured articles’, that should be provided in the top of the site. I don’t understand why they don’t show as they supposed to be. Being more specific – the sample articles that were posted as examples – they work as featured. But the ones I publish – they don’t show in this column. I don’t understand why it’s like this, although I do everything as the intrusion says. Can you please help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @wesolyszczurek,
1) Just make sure to use the same tag is used for your posts and also while setting up your featured post section.
2)Just check in your Customizer the “Home Page Settings” tab is selected to your “Latest Posts”. Also, just have 3 demo posts to check if the feature works correctly.
There is also a dedicated support forum for your premium theme.
Hope this helps, let me know any further questions.
Thanks!

I’ve done all of that and still my articles don’t show. Demo posts show as featured and those made by me, don’t. Can you help me with that or should I write on support forum for my theme?

Hi there,
To show posts in the Featured section you need to add the tag “featured” to the post. You do this in the Categories and Tags section of the post editor settings.
At the moment you have the tag “featured” added to these posts, so they are the posts that will show in the featured area:

Note that your theme only allows you to have three featured posts at a time.

Hi again,
As stated in the Melody theme page:
Melody‘s homepage is a simple yet elegant design. Pick your three favorite posts and highlight them as featured posts. The rest of your page looks great in a perfectly aligned grid.So just make sure you have the “Featured” tag only for three posts. You can remove the tag from the other posts. Just try this and let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

I’ve done everything as you recommended but till few hours ago the problem was still there. Now something happened and it works, exept of the fact that my text dissapeared, but it’s Ok, I’ll write it again.
Can I add the tag „featured” to any post or need them be the samples of the theme? Does it work with any tag I’ll choose or it must be specify the „featured” tag?
-
You set the featured tag in the Customizer, under My Site ->Customize ->Featured content, as explained in the theme instructions. At the moment that tag is set as “featured”, but you can set a different tag if you want.
You can add the tag to any post, yes. That is how it works. You can delete the demo content of the theme. That’s just to show you how the theme works. You don’t need to keep it.

Thank you for your help. I’ve done everything as the instruction says – while ago I’ve changed the featured tag to check if it’s OK now and it is not. Even though I’ve chosen 3 publication and set the tag “hello”, only two of them are shown as featured. Can you take a look on that?
-
I see all three posts tagged with “hello” showing in the featured area of your theme:
-
I know, it took few hours to download the last one. Is it normal?
How Can I set the order od featured posts? -
If your theme caches the featured posts it can take a while to update after you tag a new post, yes, though it should not take more than an hour.
Featured posts will always display with the one you published last appearing first, so to change the order you need to change the publication date of the posts.
