Landing page in Photographer theme

  I cannot get my ‘home’ page to be my landing page – it keeps giving me my blog.

  I looked it up and got the following answer
  ‘For your homepage to be the landing page, you will need to set your reading settings to ‘A static Page’ and select your home page as the ‘Front Page’. To do you can navigate to Appearance > Customize > Front, or Settings > Reading.”

  This does not work – in customise, it won’t let me set it to front page and in ‘reading’ it doesn’t give me the option to nominate my landing page either.
