Landing page with buttons?

  So I’m not very tech savvy with sites… So please don’t give me any super techy answers that I can’t follow.
  I have my domain and two sub domains, all of this is set up on the same network etc. I don’t need help there. My problem is that I want to create I think a ‘landing page’ (correct me if I’m wrong) and I want to have two buttons on this landing page to lead to the two separate sub domains. I have no idea how to do this. I would just like it simple an image and two buttons, nothing more really. Should I be downloading a single page theme in order to do this or is there a plugin or plugins I should be using instead or alongside this? I know this can be done and I’m starting to feel a little dumb not being able to figure it out or word it to find my answer as I would like it. Please help!

  You can follow this guide to set up a static front page for your site, rather than displaying your recent posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

  Once you do that, you can edit the page you set as the front page. There are a couple approaches to take, but the simplest is to add a couple of images in your page, and link each of these to one of your other sites:

  You can create the images in any graphics program, like Photoshop, and design them to suit your needs.
