  I need to change the language. I want my site in french.

  Did you see this page?
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/language-settings/
  If you click on settings, about 12 items down on the left hand side menu, you can choose which language your site messages are shown in to readers.
  If you click on the link next to the language pulldown (after setting your site language to French) it will take you to account settings, and from there you can set the Admin interface to French too.

  When I say ‘click on settings’ I mean in your wordpress admin panel – not on that page! Thanks!
