language options & subscriptiones & Facebook Like Box
-
Hi there,
can somebody tell me please if there is a way to translate a blog into “English” and “German”. I have the blog set up in Spanish, but I also will have english and german readers that’s why it would be great to give them the options to change the language from Spanish to one of those both mentioned before.
I also would love to know if there is a way to see the e-mail addresses of the people who are subscribed to a blog?
How can I see them?
It would be great to have some insight on the movement of my posts…And, last but not least, I am struggeling with the widget: Facebook Like Box.
How can I include it in my blog? I am copying & pasting my facebook address, but it doesn’t seem to work…Thanks in advance for your help,

The best we can do is (1) use a translation page (2) use a translation widget as described here.
I also would love to know if there is a way to see the e-mail addresses of the people who are subscribed to a blog?
I’m sorry but that information is not available to us.
The Facebook like box widget – Appearance > Widgets
If you are new to Publicize, you’ll see a sequence of screens confirming permission to post to your Facebook account, before you see the screens above. Also note, currently you can only Publicize to one target: either a page or your wall. -
Hi Timethief,
what a great help you are providing!
I just installed the translation widget and I can see the small translation box with the flags, which is great. I have seen in your personal blog that you can click on the language translation widget and the “google translation box” appears automatically on top of your page. How did you do this exactly? Because it doesn’t appear automatically on mine. If I click on the small box with the flags I get connected with the free website tranlation webpage and the person would have to scroll down in order to copy & past my blog address to get in translated. That’s a little bit confusing for the people. Is it correct that way or can the google tool be connected directly on top of my blog?I understand that there is no way to see who has been subscribed or how many people are subscribed in the blog. Right?
Thanks for the detailed “publicize” page… Will check it out.
Greetings to Canada,

Hi Sabine,
We cannot use the Google translation widget on free hosted WordPress.COM blogs as it’s a Javascript widget, so the one we can use is the one I have on both of my blogs. It’s the one you now have on yours. In other words, this is the best we can do for a widget. I also have a translation page on both of my blogs and they are slightly easier to use.Blog administrators can see how many people are subscribed to their blog from the Site Stats page.

Hi timethief,
I kind of have another question and I hope you can help me.
I tried to add the “Site Stats page” and I couldn’t really figure out how to do it.
It’s the part where I can see the subscriptions to the blog, including their e-mails.
How can I add it please? In one of your old posts I found this information:
Is it still valid? What is it exactly and can I add it to wordpress.com?
“The wordpress stats plugin can be found here http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/stats/ If you wish you can run Google Analytics on your wordpress.org blog. It’s free and very comprehensive. The wordpress blog subscription widget is an wordpressMU (wp multiuser blogging platforms only) plugin. That means it can’t be used on a wordpress.org install.”
Thanks once again for your help.
Sabine
