Lapsed domain name redemption possible? Who to contact?

    I have been away from my site for quite some time and did not realise the payment information for autorenew was not updated, my domain name has lapsed. Who can I get in touch with to enquire about the process of getting my domain name back. I realise there are limitations and rules, but I would like to start this process to see if I can regain my site regardless of outcome. My domain was paid through WordPress.

    When a domain expires it falls into a grace period for about 10 days to 2 weeks, during this period the domain can be renewed at the regular price.

    After this, the domain falls under the redemption period(length can vary). You can also renew your domain during this period, but you will charged an extra $80.00 redemption fee along with the regular renewal cost.

    NOTE:

    During the redemption phase, domains can be included in expired-domain auctions, where another party can bid on your domain name. If the domain is claimed by someone else in an auction, you will not be able to renew. If you made a payment in attempt to reclaim the domain out of redemption and were unsuccessful, you will get a refund.

    Hi beautifulkayekie,

    I have been away from my site for quite some time and did not realise the payment information for autorenew was not updated, my domain name has lapsed.

    beautifulkayekie.com expired on 2017-04-05 and is currently in the redemption period:

    Domain Expiration

    We can still try to recover the domain but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the regular domain renewal costs ($26). If you agree to these costs I can generate a payment request for the amount and start the recovery process.

    If you do not want to pay the fee, you can wait until the domain is released but this is the riskier option as someone may register it before you.

    Please let me know which option you prefer and if you have any questions.
