  Hi — my credit card was in my account but it was not charged for a renewal for my personal account. Now it appears I can only choose pro or free. Can I get my personal account renewed?

  Hi there,

  As a result of the recent revision of the plan, you will not be able to view legacy plans (personal plan):
  https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  There are currently only two plans available:
  1. Free 2. Pro

  This only tells me what WP did to pricing plans without any advance outreach. Now I have to pay $180 a year for my hobby blog (dating back to 2006) with relatively few site visits, which I previously maintained as a pro account and wanted to keep going as a personal account.

  I get the message, WP.com has decided that certain bloggers have to pay up to the same level as those with much bigger traffic and storage.

  The staff can confirm if legacy plans can be renewed for old accounts.

  Thanks for the replies and for the tag! I see on the pricing thread there is a plan coming at some point to offer a tier between Pro and Free — that’s good news for me and my usage.

  @eddiefel: Thanks for reaching out!

  Looking at your account, you updated the credit card on file for your Personal plan on 2022-01-30, but you also disabled auto-renew for the plan right after updating the card. Because auto-renew was disabled, there was no renewal attempt on your plan and the Personal plan expired on 2022-02-24.

  As @amiteshg93 indicated, our plans have changed since then and the only options available now are Free and Pro. However, we will have news soon about that new tier – keep an eye out on our blog for more information in the coming weeks.

  If I renew at Pro price now, what happens when the middle tier rolls out? Can I downgrade at that time and get a credit? or am I locked in until my renewal next year?

  Hi @eddiefel,

  That would depend on whether your Pro plan is still within the refund period when the new plan comes out.

  But if you contact support at that point we can take a look and see what we’re able to do for you.
