Large gray B at the top of my posts in Hive Theme
-
I have copied some posts from another of my WordPress blogs and added them to a new one that uses the Hive Theme. Everything seems fine but, for some reason, when I am on a large computer screen there is a very large gray B showing at the top of each post next to, or sometimes slightly hidden by, the graphic at the top of my posts. I can’t find a way to see it in edit mode and therefore can’t delete it. Any suggestions?

Hi there,
Note that as a premium plan owner you can also receive help with issues like this via live chat, here:
https://wordpress.com/help/contact
And your theme also has a dedicated forum where you can get support directly from the theme developer at:
https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/hive
On wider screens your theme automatically uses the first letter from a post and displays it as a background at the top of the post, as shown in the theme demo here:
https://hivedemo.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/in-review-design-architecture-and-craft/
In your case, every post starts with “By Sandy Robinson”, so it uses B, and because you have an image at the top of every post rather than text, the letter appears half-hidden behind the image instead of visible behind the first line of text.
There is no way to disable this feature of the theme, but I would suggest you just alter the layout of your posts a bit: Start with the introductory paragraph, maybe even using your theme’s special Intro Text style explained under Typography Styles in https://wordpress.com/theme/hive/setup, and move the byline and image to right below that before continuing with the rest of the article.
