Large white space on white side of blog

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello –

    Out of the blue there is now a large white space on the side of my blog. Support has said it is because my screen is beyond the maximum width – but this did not happen before. She suggested to reach out here. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I don’t know how to attach a screenshot I’m afraid…

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I do see a white–greyish area on the right side of your site. It looks like its the background color.

    If you have the Custom Design upgrade, try adding this CSS through the WordPress admin –> Appearance –> Customize –> CSS:

    body.custom-background {
    background-color: #000000;
    }

    It should then look like this:

    Support has said it is because my screen is beyond the maximum width – but this did not happen before.

    If something like that changed and you haven’t changed your browser window width, It might also have been caused if you changed the zoom settings in your browser.

    I checked http://notquiteacougar.com/ and I see the grey background that lorenzocaum mentioned, but I don’t see a large white space. Note that the grey background is a normal part of the theme design.

    If you’re still having trouble, and you don’t think it’s because of the zoom settings in your browser, try posting a screenshot showing your entire browser window to http://snag.gy/ so we can see what you’re seeing.

    Since there hasn’t been a reply here in a few weeks and I couldn’t see the problem described when I tested, I’m going to mark this issue as resolved.

    If you need further help with Custom Design or CSS, please start a new help request or reply here and mark the thread as “not resolved.”
