Add topic to favorites
Hi guys,
I see that there are already a couple of posts about adding a LastFm widget to the side bar. This would really be a great improvement and partnership. Have you made any progress on it? Or at least allowing the LastFm code in the text widgets?

Add your two cents in by sending feedback into staff when it opens for the week. Make sure to give the reasons why you want LastFM supported.

Agreed. If all you do is post here in the forums, staff may not see it and you just create more work for the volenteers telling you to do so. Best bet would be to send in a feedback to add in your vote.

Watch this thread. Pretty soon, you’ll start seeing all these folks posting what’s known as ‘me too!’ posts requesting this. It’s rather funny. :)

Seems to me I do remember reading something about doing it with RSS. But maybe I’m thinking of twitter….

That’s one thread with some suggestions. It’s not RSS, but something with a text widget.

I never got into lastfm so I can’t confirm or deny that it works.

Although the ‘WordPress’ (.org?) widget for lastfm doesn’t yet work on WordPress.com, this method works as a way of linking to your favourite music on the site – and I’ve just added a link to my own sidebar:

* Go to ‘Image charts for forums and blogs’ at http://www.last.fm/tools/charts/?subpage=gallery#LastBody

* Under ‘Chart Style,’ select number of rows, and configure music selection – eg recent tracks, favourite albums / artists etc.

* Under ‘Find a Style to Suit Your Site,’ configure design of image – including preference for page or sidebar versions

* Under ‘Code for your site,’ select ‘My Space / HTML’

* Cut and paste into a text widget

* Enjoy. *
