I have had my site since 2008. My newborn has been in the nicu due to being born prematurely and my website has gone past due as of May. I really want to keep my site, and dont want to go elsewhere is there any one I can talk to or anyway to get a one time grace for my site expiring, please? I am sorry, I dont even know where else to get help or who to contact.

Flagged for the staff to help –
however I have never seen the late domain renewal fee waived, that fee is set by the registrar not WordPress.COM

Thanks auxclass, I’ve never needed help, or expanded much past setting up my business site through wordpress. So I am Finding it very hard to make contact with someone and navigate around here. I understand something might not be able to be done, but figured giving the circumstances and how long I’ve had my site up and running exceptions might be made. Hope to hear from staff soon, I’d love to get my site back. Who is the registrar, is their a number or email for them that I may contact?

You are registered here, so the staff here are the correct people to help you – also depending on how long ago the domain name expired you might need staff help for the renewal
you be welcome & good luck

The fee is set by the domain name registrar and cannot be waived by WordPress.COM Staff – period. For more information on what your options are, please read https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration for details.
(If we allow a domain name to expire then the registrar owns it and can do whatever they want with it, including selling it to someone else, or not offering it for sale.)
See here WHOIS
Please be patient while waiting for a Staff response.

Hi there! As auxclass and timethief explained, we don’t control the late renewal fee so there’s no way for us to waive it.
At this point you should still be able to renew the domain through your dashboard without staff intervention:

Let me know if you have any trouble doing that though!
