late renewal fee
-
Hello,
I was out of the country and didn’t realize the time I had to renew my blog site. The late renewal fees are something I was never advised of. Please help me renew my domain name without having to pay the 80.00 dollars.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh no! This blog’s domain audacedestyle.com expired 36 days ago!
That fee is set by the domain name registrar, not by WordPress.COM and it cannot be waived.

Timethief is correct.
Your expired domain has gone into the redemption period and incurred a late-renewal fee to renew. I understand your frustration, but there is nothing we can do about the late fee. It is imposed on us by our registrar (and is standard practice for every registrar that I am familiar with). You can find more info on domain expiration here:
We strongly encourage users to set up auto renewal to avoid this sort of issue. But even if auto-renewal is not an option, we send multiple emails alerting users of domain expiration and put alert notices on the blog dashboard when users log in.
If the domain is important to you, I highly suggest paying the late fee and renewing as soon as possible. You can choose to wait out the expiration process and let the domain be released to the public marketplace again. But there is also the very real possibility that domain squatters or someone who simply wants the name will grab it before you do.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any questions.
