  I think that people could get much more interested in new posts if they were able to read the summary of the posts on their Dashboards.

  If people write an Excerpt, it will be shown below the post title.

  If they don’t, the first 30 – 40 words of the post will be shown.

  Well this won’t work on the dashboard but you can make summary’s for your posts on the home page with the more tag » The More Tag

  I know that, but what good does it make if people can read the summary when they have already got to my blog? The point is that people could get attracted to post by reading what it is about, in my opinion the title is not sufficient.

  Write better titles. The last thing people want on their dashboard is more of other people’s copy. It’s already overcrowded.

  Yes it is definitely overcrowded. I wish they would allow us to configure things in the dashboard main page here like they do with self-hosted blogs. I keep “other wordpress news” and “wordpress development blog” set to display only three each on my self-hosted blog.
