“Latests Posts” Block Not Showing “Read More” Button
-
I am having trouble with the “Latest Posts” block. The issue is identical to this old one here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/latest-posts-block-read-more/
In the editor the latest posts block shows a button that says “Read more” and has a link to the article.
In the live site and the previews however it simply states […]
I can’t find any way to fix this so I’m wondering if I need to stop using this block or do something to just exclude that “[…]” text at the end?
Below I have attached a photo of how it looks in the editor and then how it looks live respectively.
Thanks.

Hello,
I am sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
It’s a bug that hasn’t been fixed yet. The problem was reported here:https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/35101
But it was closed without resolution.I got in touch and asked to reopen it.

In the meantime, I suggest the alternative that @kokkieh made in this answer:
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/latest-posts-block-read-more/#post-3793005As an alternative, you can use the Blog Posts block. That’s specific to WordPress.com, and in that block, you can toggle the Continue Reading link on/off, and you can customize its text to say something different: https://wordpress.com/en/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/blog-posts-block/
I also tagged the WordPress team.
Hope this helps! -
