LaTeX backslashes mysteriously disappearing
-
I recently noticed that on a couple of my posts (though not all), the backslashes I had within my LaTeX equations had disappeared. They displayed properly (meaning that “infty” correctly displayed an infinity symbol) when I first posted them, but just browsing my blog a moment ago, I noticed that the equations had been reformatted as though the backslashes weren’t there (the word “infty” appearing instead of the correct symbol), and they were in fact missing when I looked at the source code. I was able to put them back in successfully, but if there’s a bug that’s causing backslashes to be stripped from LaTeX formatting, it might be affecting other blogs as well. Thanks.

I came across the same problem, and still don’t know how (instead of typing them again) to fix it.
