Latex support

Apparently, this latex is wrong:
$latex normalsize a[(x + frac{b}{2a})^2 – frac{b^2}{4a^2} + frac{c ×4a}{a×4a}] = 0$
I don’t seem to know why. Can someone try to see why?

PS. I think normalsize has no effect. I would like to make $latex … $ produce larger or bold formula but cannot get it to do this.

@crashmaths I’ve looked at your code and the problem seems to be with the syntax, rather than the size parameters. Unfortunately, we don’t have any LaTex experts on staff, so we aren’t able to help you with the syntax.
Based on the rest of this thread, it sounds like @brianphilp does have some experience though, so if you could re-paste the code that isn’t working for him, he may be able to help.
Otherwise, Stack Exchange has a LaTex support forum. You can access it here:

No. En realidad lo que se pienso hacer es publicar entradas donde se explique el código de LaTeX, como se hace báscimente en estos blogs:
* https://gauthma.wordpress.com/latex-miscellanea/
* http://timmurphy.org/2009/09/06/highlighting-table-rows-in-latex/Espero que me haya dejado entender. Saludos.

LaTex is not included in the list of languages that are supported by our syntax highlighting tool.
The full list of supported languages is here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/posting-source-code/
The first site you linked to was able to display the code using this shortcode:
[sourcecode language="tex"]so you might try that to see if it meets your needs.
the second site you linked was a self-hosted WordPress site. Self-hosted sites offer more code flexibility which is how he was able to post the code. More about the difference between WordPress.com and self hosted WordPress can be found here:
