  I can’t launch my site. It keeps directing me to upgrade to a paid account. I already have the free domain. Please advise.

  Try this:

  Go to the page https://wordpress.com/home/, then add the address of the new site to the end of that URL. At that page, you should find a couple of different launch buttons. Click the one on the right side that says “Launch my site.” Let me know if that works.
