Launch site

  I am being asked to ‘launch site’ before I can change the settings from private to public. However, when I click ‘launch site’ I am being asked to ‘give my site an address’, but I need to pay for it…! I thought that it is all for free? I do not understand. Do you mind advising me?

  A number of people seem to be posting here with similar questions. Have you already created a free site with a subdomain ending in .blog or .wordpress.com?
  If so make sure that after clicking the “Launch site” button that you leave blank the field at the top that says “Enter a name or keyword”. Instead just click on “skip purchase” at the bottom right next to your new free address and then click on continue with free on the next page.
