Launch then unlaunch

  Good morning. This is the first blog I’ve created and it’s for a class group assignment. I want my classmates to see what I have thus far without sharing my user name and password. So can I launch the site real quick (and share the link with them), then unlaunch it to make final edits? I have a free package. Thanks

  Hi there,

  You cannot unlaunch a site, but you can set the site back to private. However, the moment you set it to private it will again only be accessible to you, and people you’ve invited as viewers.

  You shouldn’t under any circumstances give your username and password to anyone else.

  The correct way to give someone access to a private site is to invite them as a viewer. Viewers will then be able to access the site via their own WordPress.com username accounts.
