Launched site but not linked to domain name

    I bought a domain name with name.com. Then I signed up to hosting for that specific domain name through Bluehost which allowed me to use WordPress to design and launch my site, which I have now done… but the site URL is nothing like my domain name. Have I built my entire site under a temporary / incorrect domain name provided by workpress? Can I transfer the content to the domain name I bought? I’m new to this and very confused about what could have gone wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

    The site you are referring to appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on an outside web hosting company, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    To clarify, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities, but the essential difference is that we don’t have access to all WordPress sites, only the ones hosted on our WordPress.com servers. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.
