  Hi; I seem to be unable to launch my free site – it keeps sending me to a page that wants me to pay for hosting…

  Correct account: Yes

  Yes, I found that page, but as I say, it keeps sending me to the page that wants money – this page:

  I was under the impression that it is a free site…

  Yes, as long as you keep your site at the “WordPress.com” URL we give to free sites.

  However a custom address is not by itself free. To get a custom address you must upgrade to one of our plans.

  Please also note that if you upgrade to our yearly plans (instead of opting for monthly billing) the your domain is included free for the first year. If you purchase the monthly option the domain is instead an added fee.
