Launching my site

  Hi there,

  I created a website locally on my mac using MAMP and WordPress. Now that I am ready to go live I tried to import my export file from my phpadmin where I developed the site and nothing really seemed to happen. I received a successful import confirmation message but almost none my page has made it over. Any thoughts? Also, I wanted to apologize in advance because I am very new to this and may not be the most knowledgeable customer.

  Please ask this question in the WordPress.ORG support forum. This support forum is for free wordpress.com blogs, not self-hosted wordpress.ORG installs, and we can’t help you with that here. WordPress.com and wordpress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  The wordpress.org support forum can be found here: http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t already have a username on that forum, click the register button in the upper right corner so you can post in that forum.

  If you actually want to have a free website on WP.com I’m sorry to tell you you have been wasting your time up until now. The only way to create a website here is via the My Blogs page or like you did when you signed up to be able to post in this forum. None of the plugins and themes you installed in your local site on your Mac will work here.
