Laws on Cyber-bullying or Exposing Cyber-Bullies?

What are the laws in exposing people’s alias’ on WordPress forums?
I am continually being harassed on the forums I run because some pastor (aka Facelift) is tearing into it, dividing members, causing descent, division, trouble, etc. He is constantly repelling people from my blog (and other blogs too).
They have threatened members in exposing their identification (including my own) and I have banned him over 104 times (due to different alias’ and IP addresses). Not only that – he emails others behind the scenes – to that I don’t how much it is related to working at tearing down blogs like my own.

He is also hell-bent in destroying it. I know my blog is controversial – but I would like to see the laws myself just to find out if there is anything I can do about cyber-bullying. I am reaching my end and don’t want to do something stupid. I want to know if I am on dangerous ground here.
(And yes! This psycho cyber-bully IS a pastor of a cult movement known as the C3 Movement.)

He also keeps using a random IP generator. If I can somehow block this using programs on WordPress I’d be so happy.

Free blogs being free hosted by WordPress.com cannot have embedded forums. I suspect you may be posting to the wrong support forum and ought to be posting to http://wordpress.org/support/

Please read this to determine which support dorum is the correct one for the software you are using. > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1

P.S. Id you are referring to a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM, then we require the URL for the blog in question starting with http:// when you post to this forum. Will you please post it now?

We need a link to the blog you are talking about so we can determine if you are in the right forum.

We aren’t lawyers and can’t advise on points of law, but I can say: the law depends not only where WP.com is located, but where you are located and where he is located.

Also, it doesn’t sound to this layperson that he’s doing anything illegal. Being a complete asshole isn’t illegal.

Provided that this loudmouth has a blog hosted by wordpress.COM that is violating the ToS Staff can shut it down. http://wordpress.com/tos However, psycho trolls usually just get another blog from Blogger or somewhere else and come at you again. They are sick people and it’s ONLY when they are shunned that they move on and locate another place to perform.

I think what I would like to do, (which may be against the laws of WordPress), is that to make sure he doesn’t come back again, is to identify him publically, rather then keep having him destroy my blog. I’m trying to know if that would be out of line as an administrator on WordPress. I don’t want to break nay laws here.

Doing this would save a LOT of problems. That’s why I want to know under Law if that is something I can do. It means putting a name and face to what is written – that person is now held accountable in the public eye. If people knew what they were doing behind an alias he would stop their harassment, bullying and destruction of my blog.
And yes. He has threatened on my WordPress blog and also personally to members and myself through personal email.

I just want this to stop. Thanks for your answers, links, support and time.

It is a controversial site but this guy, as much as he has been ignored, has been trying to get back on for the last two years to only bring his problems back.

I’m sorry but we Volunteers do not provide legal advice. Only lawyers can do that.

We also do not know either your location or the location of the blogger to whom you are referring. Thus, even if we WERE lawyers, we could not advise you.

Publicly identifying people online, as you intend to do, may indeed be a violation of law. So think carefully and seek legal advice before you take action of that sort.

Thanks. Both of us are Australian. Another friend is looking into it too but doesn’t seem to be having any luck.
