Layout changing when opened from Twitter link
-
Hey,
I’ve just posted the link to my new blog on my Twitter blog account, but the layout changes to a mobile style theme and I really don’t like it, I just want it to stay as my usual layout which it does when I open a normal link. If it helps, the link to my Twitter account is @changingthesail, if you open the link you’ll see what I mean. Please help, thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Your site is currently set to display a different theme on mobile devices.
To disable that, please navigate to Appearance > Mobile in your WP Admin dashboard, then select “No” for the “Enable mobile theme” at the link below:

Hey,
Thanks for your reply! I’ve changed it and updated it to ‘no’ but it still seems to be viewing the same way. Does it take some time to update or is there something else I need to do?
Thanks

It looks like the URL you’ve shared on Twitter is for the AMP version of the post.

Please try sharing the URL below on Twitter, then check if the site appears correctly.

Twitter seems to be redirecting visitors to the AMP version if one’s available.
Please try disabling AMP completely in My Sites > Settings > Traffic > AMP.
-
I’ll try that, can’t find the My Sites section on my Dash though? I’m going into Settings and Traffic isn’t an option so assuming I need to find the My Sites button. Thanks so much for this help!

I managed to find it and disable AMP but now when I follow the link (and I’ve tried posting it and following it again), it says the page can’t be found :(

Twitter caches URL’s – instead of fetching new info every time something is shared, it relies on old info that it has stored.
I’ve used Twitters debugger to clear the cache, then Tweeted your latest post at the link below:

Please try clicking on it, then check if the post appears for you (it appears for me).

It seems to be working now on my links and on yours, but before your reply I turned APM on again to see if the links would work, now they’re showing in the format I want but with APM on again? Shall I turn it off again…
Sorry for being a pain ha ha!

Yes.
If you don’t want people to see the blue version of the site, please disable AMP.
Please note that these changes will not appear instantly on Twitter due to the way it caches info.
-
Okay, I’ve disabled AMP again.
Fingers crossed it won’t revert back to saying ‘page not found’ now that I’ve taken it off again. Is it likely to do this?
Thanks for all your help – you’ve been great :)

It should be fine.
If you get the “page not found” message, it’ll only be temporary until the cache expires and Twitter recrawls the page’s html.
