layout for blogposts
-
Good day,
I am reaching out as I would like to create a complete new website which would rather have blogging purposes. This in addition to the current portfolio maximewillems.wordpress.com
While looking at different CMS suppliers I couldn’t find what I was looking for.
I really like the following site and blogpost layout :
All the pictures have different sizes, are next to each other, text content is inbetween.
I saw that this is a wordpress site which uses WPbakery for the page layouts.I also really like ‘flothemes’ https://flothemes.com/pronto-all-in-one/ who can be applied to a wordpress site. But they confirmed that none of their templates offers this possibility and that they cannot guarantee that the WPbakery works with their templates.
So both work with WordPress and I am happy to stay with you :)
Can you just share :
– if you know if both can be run together
– if there are wordpress themes that are pretty nice for blogging
– if the french website I shared uses eventually a classic wordpress templateThank you in advance for your support,
MaximeWP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The theme that https://le-chien-a-taches.com/2022/08/vadrouille-ete/ is using is called Sahel. You can find and purchase it here:
https://themeforest.net/item/sahel-an-elegant-multiconcept-theme/
Both the Sahel theme and WPBakery are third-party and not supported by us here at WordPress.com, so you would need to reach out to either of them to see if they are compatible with each other. You can do so here:
WPBakery: https://support.wpbakery.com/
Theme Forest: https://themeforest.net/item/sahel-an-elegant-multiconcept-theme/22524657/supportHowever, we can definitely host your site if they are compatible with each other, and you can install them both with the purchase of the Business Plan:
Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!

Good evening,
thank you so much for your detailed reply :) much appreciated.
Just one last question :
> what I don’t understand, this tool says that the website uses WordPress as a CMS : https://whatcms.org/?s=le-chien-a-taches.com> why do theme forest put WordPress in the software list :
https://themeforest.net/item/sahel-an-elegant-multiconcept-theme/22524657#
Am I mixing up things ?> here they also say that you can install the theme via a wordpress admin panel :
https://sahel.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/I am confused …
What did I get wrong ? -
Hi there,
To clarify, do you have a site hosted elsewhere or are you wanting to install the theme on http://maximewillems.wordpress.com/?
-
Hi,
I will most probably shut down maximewillems.wordpress.com which is a portfolio website I have replaced elsewhere and which is not my current priority.
I wanted however to start a new site, ideally hosted with you, with a paid domain, using this Sahel theme from theme forest and with wpBakery as a plug-in (if needed) which would rather have a blog aspect.
Before starting I am trying to find out if this can be run that way.
All other suppliers (squarespace, portfoliobox, …) produce blogpost pages which are rather simple with just text followed by pictures underneath each other.
(see my initial question above)Best

As long as you have a Business plan or above (which allows you to add your own themes and plugins to your site), both of those items should work here.
Regarding whether or not the layout would be like you wanted, that would fall to the theme you choose so that question would be better answered by the developers of the Sahel theme.
You can read how to add your own plugins or themes by following these steps here after you upgrade:
Plugins: https://wordpress.com/support/plugins/install-a-plugin/
Themes: https://wordpress.com/support/themes/uploading-setting-up-custom-themes/
I hope that clarifies things!
