Layout has become messed up

    Hello all,

First off, thanks for the great service over the years.

I have searched the forum on these points but the threads I found didn’t help and were, in any event closed. I posted a new thread on the forum but received no response. I also tried the various suggestions you have made before submitting this request but to no avail.

My blog – mannerofspeaking.org – uses the Twenty Ten theme. I am very happy with it. Tonight, I purchased the Premium package that roles domain mapping, no ads and other features into a single bundle. No sooner had I done that than the appearance of the blog became messed up:

    1) It went from two columns to one with the sidebar now pushed to the bottom.
    2) The header now runs onto the background.
    2) The type is different and not as nice as the default type (which I would like back).

I know from the Twenty Ten theme page that you can change the page template to two columns or one but for the life of me I cannot figure out how. And I know that Type Font is on my blog but I do not recall ever having set it or messed around with CSS.

I canceled my purchase but have not yet received an email from WP as indicated. My thinking is that by canceling, the site would go back to the way it was. I would continue to buy the domain mapping and no ads individually.

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

The blog I need help with is mannerofspeaking.org.

Hi again. The Sacred Path has been very helpful and explained how to clear my CSS. So you can close this discussion.

One thing for your consideration, however.

I recall (a couple of years ago) that WP released a feature that allowed members a chance to experiment with CSS just to see what could be done. I have a recollection of trying a few things but then deciding that I would rather focus on the blogging. Yesterday, I purchased the Premium Package that comes with CSS. That’s when the problem started.

I suggested to Sacred Path that the system might have “remembered” my tweaks even though they were dormant and implemented them on activation. He agreed that it might be possible. This is something you might want to look into.

    Thanks again.

Glad that you figured it out. One feature of the Custom Design upgrade is that a history of all your CSS changes is kept so that you can revert changes if needed. The system also doesn’t delete the CSS revisions when a user’s Custom Design upgrade subscription runs out, so that they can renew and not lose any of the ir hard work. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/#previewing-and-saving for more information.

    Best,

    Gregory
