Layout is acting up

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello Everyone,

I am brand new to this and would like to know if anyone can help me. The layout on my page is acting up. My sidebar is showing up at the bottom of the page and my first post has a white background while the others are all grey. I read some of the other posts that reflect my problem and I still can’t seem to fix the problem. My blog URL is http://deviantdecorum.wordpress.com

If anyone could take a look and help me out if would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You.

Your images are probably too wide. I gotta run, but if you don’t get it resolved by the time I get home, I’ll see what I can see.

Check through your code and see if you have any unclosed DIV tags before the page break (MORE tag). That’s usually what causes this. You will have to sift through your posts until you find it, but start with the most recent.

The MORE tag seems to be splitting a lot of tags recently. You might consider not using it for awhile, just to avoid this while we know it IS happening.

Thank you raincoaster. I took out the more tags and it looks fine now.

    Appreciate it.

There seems to be an issue right now and if you use the more tag, and it breaks the layout, just go back in and right before the more tag, in the code view, insert</div> and it typically fixes the problem.

I don´t use the more tag, but my layout has gotten messed up within the past few days. I haven´t made any posts since Wednesday, but the layout changed since then. I have gone through many posts and checked the code view, but I haven´t seen any unclosed tags.

Please tell me if this could be due to something else.

Set your blog to display only one post per page (options > reading) and then go through them one at a time to see which is causing the problem.
