Layout of Post page
-
Has the layout been changed? When I go to post now, there is a bar for the Title at the top, then a long, long scroll down to a tiny bit for text (which can be made full size) with the other bits on the l.h. side, but before this the box for text was always underneath the title. I feel that something is wrong. Can anyone confirm?
Also, my Link icon is always grey nowadays. Why should this be so?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi timethief / staff.
I would like to understand how to behave :)
When someone tag a post for Staff Assistance, this prevent others to answer? And, in the other hand, is there any rules to tag posts like that, for instance subjects to be answer exclusively by staff, etc…?
Thanks for your help. -

Hi there,
I have answered questions here for 9 years and like raincoaster, I predate all Support Staff except one member, as well as predating the support docs.To answer your questions please read the sticky posts at the head of the support forums. :)

https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/In this thread I checked the past threads that have been asked and answered by maristrevels and observed that Staff assistance has been and will be needed for this blogger. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/maristravels
Understand that I do know the answer but in this case I know from past experience it’s best for Staff to provide maristravels step by step assistance.

No but do read what follows please.
This thread is tagged for Staff and what’s required is the blogger’s patience and respect from other bloggers who choose not to bump here thread.
Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in chronological order based on datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.
How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.
Please consider not bumping any thread here by posting into it again after an experienced Volunteer has tagged it for Staff, because it’s not in the best interest of the blogger if we post into it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Doing that moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer the blogger to get a Staff response.

@maristravels
It’s right after a long weekend and there is a backlog for Staff. Please be patient while waiting for them to help you. -

The New Editor should look like this:
However, we’re troubleshooting an error where the editor window occasionally drops below the left-hand sidebar. Is that what you’re experiencing?

Can you make sure you’re highlighting text to be linked? The button will not work unless you’ve highlighted the text that you want to hyperlink within your post.

I think this is the problem, sounds like it. At any rate it has dropped right down to the bottom of the page and only allows me to type in about 3 lines. I can though, click on a maximise button to get it full size but I’d like it as it used to be, open and up and away!
I will check that I am highlighting the link.

This does indeed sound like it matches what you’re describing. Here’s an example of what this would look like:
We’re trying to get this fixed up as soon as possible!

Yep, that’s it! Hurrah, at least we know what the problem is. Thanks for your help. Great to know you are there looking after things.
