Layout problems. How can I format the text around a picture to be static?

Hello! I am having some trouble with the layouts of my posts. I often include images or video in my posts, and have text before and after the media. Frequently, I find that when using a computer with a different resolution of screen size, the layout of my post will fluxuate, and end up looking like crap.

For example, I have a post where I have several pictures with text to the left or right of the image, describing what is going on in each picture. On some computers, this looks great, and the text stays by the appropriate image. On my netbook, or a small computer, the text overlaps between the images, and the post looks awful.

Is there some way to line up text with an image/video embed where the post’s layout will remain static no matter what computer you view the post from? Thanks!

  • Hi, part of this is because your current theme, Twenty Eleven, includes a responsive layout. This means that the design and layout of the theme changes depending on the screen size of the device you’re viewing it on.

One way to sort this out would be to switch to a theme like Twenty Ten which is not responsive. If the layout is totally breaking though it might be a theme bug. Could you snap a screenshot of how it looks and upload that to your blog?
