Layout repair
-
Greetings,
I recently ran across a small problem with my layout. I’ve done enough digging to figure it probably resulted from the accidental addition of an UNRESIZED photo to my blog.
I’ve attemted to remove two postings which should have rolled the postings back past the event which lead to this to no avail. I’ve also attempted to add a test page to see if this might snap something in place. I also attempted to briefly switch to a different theme, then back to Blix…again to no avail.
Note that when hovering on the page tab at the point where the anomaly occurs causes the segmented part of the tab to highlight as well, but the hotlink does not activate on the right hand segment.
Could some kind soul take a look at my blog and my visual aid and offer some suggestions for resolving this problem?
This anomaly is a small annoyance. However, prior to my mistake it didn’t used to look like this. The problem here is that APPARENTLY, the problem is invisible in IE6, visible in IE7, and very prominent in Mozilla.

So can you not delete?
Did you delete and then replace? And Mozilla or Firefox ?
And please do not use capitals when replying.

Thanks for the reply, Mark.

–Did you delete and then replace?Yes, I can delete. Yes, I have deleted and replaced.
1. I created the Zeb Sez Hey post and included a graphic hosted elsewhere. I forgot to size it appropriately so it was HUGE on the WordPress page.
2. I resized the graphic, doctored the post and then previewed it. That’s when I noticed the anomaly on the tabs for the pages I’ve added.
3. I removed the entire post successfully. However the anomaly remained.
4. I removed the previous post, Tonight I’m A Rock And Roll Star. Again, the anomaly persisted.
5. I have created new posts and readded the text and graphics with no change of status on the anomaly.
–And Mozilla or Firefox ?
I’m observing the same issues at work. I’ve downloaded Mozilla Firefox 2.0 which mimics the graphic I provided (third from the top). In IE 6.0 it looks perfect.
I upgraded my personal laptop to IE 7.0 last week. To be perfectly honest, there is a slim possibility the anomaly presented itself then. I may not have noticed it until last night when I freaked out over the huge graphic I tried to make the template contend with.
I have been task swapping rapidl between IE and Firefox. To my eye we appear to have some contention with the “slug” in the empty space to fill out the page tab area just below the header graphic. Also in Firefox, it appears that the white background that goes down the entire page fails to paint properly at the point where the anomaly occurs. There are attributes in the style sheet which hit at the expectation of a white backdrop, however we have grey http://www.barfliesusa.net/images/layout2.jpg
Thanks again for your assitance,
Gary

Noticed that problem only visible on home page. The only items that appear on the home page and not the rest are the widgets. Tracked the problem down to a misunderstanding on coding inside the widgets. Thanks. Gary
