"Lazy load" images on wordpress.com

  I like to include a lot of images in my posts and am familiar with the image gallery option, but it would be great to have an option to “lazy load” images (similar to what the “Lazy Load Plugin” http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lazy-load/ for self-hosted blogs does) on wordpress.com whenever the gallery option isn’t suitable, e.g., for animated GIFs, to reduce page load times.
